Detailed Itinerary
Day 1 : Arrival in Kochi
Our welcome ambassador will greet you at Kochi Airport and escort you to your hotel. Known as the ‘Queen of the Arabian Sea’ the city is the financial, commercial and industrial capital of the state of Kerala. Rest of the day is at leisure. Set on a magnificent estuary, Kochi has been attracting traders, explorers and tourists to its shores for over 600 years. Located on the south-west coast of India, Kochi or erstwhile Cochin is a lively commercial port city with a history of trading that dates back to almost 600 years.
Day 2 : Full day sightseeing Kochi
Post breakfast, leave for a day tour of the Kochi city. Starting with the Jewish Synagogue built in 1568, embellished with Chinese tiles and exquisite Belgian chandeliers. Then, proceed to the Dutch Palace in Mattancherry that was built by the Portuguese. Also, visit the Dutch Cemetery and then head to see Chinese Fishing Nets, which are also called Cheenavala. In the evening, witness the famous and traditional Kathakali dance performance which is optional. Kathakali, the classical dance form of Kerala is a blend of the facets of ballet, masque, opera, and the pantomime. End your day with a lovely dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 3 : Kochi to Munnar
After early breakfast at your hotel, start your drive towards Munnar. About 1600 m above sea level, this picture-perfect hill-station was earlier the summer resort of the erstwhile British Government in South India. Extensive tea plantations, winding lanes, stunning weather, and holiday facilities make this an admired resort town. Check-in at your hotel and enjoy the rest of the day at leisure.
Day 4 : Full day sightseeing Munnar
After breakfast, visit Tea Plantations in Munnar. Munnar is an alluring objective with the world's ideal and prestigious tea bequests. Later visit Tata Tea Museum (shut on Mondays), set up in 2005 which has photos and hardware, which narrate the excursion of a tea ranch in the zone. Exhibit space for tea tasting is another fascination where one would run over various assortments of tea. The Tata tea museum, Also known as KDHP Museum is a part of the Nallathanni Estate of Tata Tea. It is a one-of-its-kind museum of the nation and the tourists get to know about the establishment and expansion of the tea plantation industry in India. You can also enjoy Tea tasting of some of the most exotic varieties of tea in the world here.
Day 5 : Munnar to Thekkady
After breakfast, head to Periyar. On a 3-hour drive to reach Thekkady, a district located in Periyar National Park. Periyar National Park is South India’s most famous wildlife sanctuary, spread in an area of 777 sq. km. Otherwise called Thekkady, a stunningly delightful safe-haven found almost 1800 m above ocean level in the thick semi and evergreen deciduous woods of Idukki area. Later in the early evening visit a Spice Plantation. Stroll through the sweet-smelling zest gardens where the air is loaded down with the scent of nature's abundance.
Day 6 : Full day Thekkady sightseeing
The day begins with a guided nature walk. Most of the trails are generally four-to-five-kilometres long taking roughly two and a half hours to complete the trails, starting at the Periyar Lake. Enjoy the breathtaking sights and sounds of the forest from birds to butterflies, wildlife, and wildflowers. Rest of the day is at leisure. Optional activities include witnessing the Kalaripayattu performance - the most established combative techniques which started as a style in Kerala during the thirteenth century AD. Or even head for a boat ride in the Periyar National park.
Day 7 : Thekkady to Alleppey
After breakfast, move to Alappuzha to set out on the path of the backwaters. Post breakfast, board the houseboat. The houseboats are tremendous, sluggish, fascinating canal boats utilized for relaxation trips-are the improved Kettuvallams of days of yore. You will appreciate a conventional Kerala lunch with rice and curry, consisting of Pappadam, Salad, Pickle, Payasam/Tropical occasional natural product. Enjoy the dinner and overnight stay in the houseboat. The houseboat is a huge and slow-moving boat, which is typically used for leisure trips and is basically a modified Kettuvallam of olden times. This chain of beautiful lakes and lagoons lay parallel to Kerala’s coast with the Arabian Sea and form a sight of incredible beauty.
Day 8 : Alleppey to Kovalam
After breakfast, check out from your houseboat and head towards Kovalam. A calm coastal town situated around 13 km away from Thiruvananthapuram in Kerala. This small, coastal town in Kerala is the perfect destination to relax and rejuvenate your senses. On arrival, check-in at the hotel and stay overnight at the hotel.
Day 9 : Full day sightseeing Kovalam
Start your day with breakfast and the rest of the day is at leisure to explore this beautiful town. Check out the curio shops, hawkers of rich Kashmiri and Tibetan products, beachwear shops, restaurants and hotels, local bazaars, or experience the age-old Ayurveda therapies and massages. Relax overnight at the hotel.
Day 10 : Leisure day in Kovalam
After breakfast, enjoy a day of leisure activities on the beach. You have an option to enjoy a half-day city tour of Trivandrum, where you’ll visit the Kanakakunnu Palace, Napier Museum, and Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple. The temple dating back to the 8th century CE is built in the Chera style of architecture, the construction was done keeping in mind the local weather and wind direction.
Day 11 : Leisure day in Kovalam
After breakfast at the hotel, the day is at leisure or explore the local areas in Kovalam from Ayurveda to beaches and the local bazaar. Kovalam is a breathtakingly beautiful and tranquil tourist destination in God's Own Country. Backed by mounting headlands and covered by lush coconut palms, the pristine beaches are lined with a host of eateries, shops and shacks offering various services. Enjoy myriad activities from sunbathing, body toning massages, swimming, special cultural programs, or catamaran cruising. Check out the curio shops, hawkers of rich Kashmiri and Tibetan products, beachwear shops, restaurants and hotels, local bazaars, or experience the age-old Ayurveda therapies and massages. Relax overnight at the hotel.
Day 12 : End of the Itinerary
After breakfast at the hotel, check out and transfer to Trivandrum airport. Board the flight for the return journey.
