Detailed Itinerary

Day 01 : Arrival at Amritsar International Airport

Arrival

At the Amritsar airport, you will be welcomed by our welcome ambassador and further escorted to the hotel you will be staying in. After check-in, gear up to leave for your first visit to the Golden Temple. With over 100,000 visitors every day, the Golden Temple is regarded as the holiest site for Sikhs all around the world. During your visit to the Golden Temple, engage in prayer and worship, and later witness the sacred Palki Sahib ceremony.

Day 02 : A city tour of historical architectures

Post breakfast, the first stop on the itinerary for the day is Jallianwala Bagh- an open garden that was once a site where many were martyred in a massacre led by the British Army. Following that, visiting the Golden Temple would give you some time to pray and explore the centre of the Sikh culture. The last stop for the day will be at the Wagah border, one of the most prominent borders straddling the line between Pakistan and India.

Day 03 : Amidst the hills of Mcleodganj

After a quick breakfast, check out from the hotel and gear up for a drive up to Dharamshala. The next stop on the itinerary is Mcleodganj, a suburb of Dharamshala in the Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh. This hill station is popularly known for its large Tibetan population and is also known as “Little Lhasa” or “Dhasa''. After check-in to the hotel, the day is free for independent activities, including a visit to the local market. As you touch the first hill station on the tour, you will be surrounded with majestic hill and picturesque views. Situated amongst the Kangra Valley, this hill station is one of the most popular holiday destinations in India. Often referred to as India’s mini Tibet, Mcleodganj is rich with Tibetan culture, food, and Buddhist monasteries.

Day 04 : From a Monastery to a Church

Meditation in the heart of nature

Following breakfast, gear up for some time of meditation and reflection at the Dalai Lama Temple and Church of St John. Both offer an insight to the history attached to it. While the Dalai Lama Temple is home to the 14th Dalai Lama, the church of St John is famously known for its Belgian stained-glass windows. In the evening, visit the Dharamshala War Memorial that honours the war heroes. Walk around the local markets famous for their exotic sculptures and, Tibetan carpets and rugs. Before dusk falls, you will get to explore the Dharamshala War Memorial followed by a halt at the local market. The following day, you can opt to attend the early morning yoga session.

Day 05: Staying amidst the Dhauladhar Mountains

After a morning meal and check-out, you will be driven down to Palampur. Your stay at this hill station will be in the stupendous Taragarh Palace. This hotel was built by the Nawab of Bhawalpur in 1937 eventually developing into a heritage hotel in 1971. Initially built as a summer resort by the Royal family of Jammu and Kashmir, your stay will be a splendid one. Spend a day of relaxation, enjoying the scenic views while sipping on varieties of delicious tea.

Day 06 : Visiting the Tashi Jong Buddhist Monastery

Spend your last day at Palampur visiting the Tashi Jong Buddhist Monastery. The holy site is one of the established institutes of Kagyu Traditions that go way back to the 11th century. After a quiet time in prayer and meditation, make a move towards the Palampur Tea Gardens. Palampur is the tea capital of northwest India not only offers the finest tea but is also surrounded by an abundance of water flowing to the mountains, making this a wonderful sight to witness.

Day 07 : Pragpur: India’s first Heritage village

After breakfast, drive to India's first heritage village called Pragpur. Explore the history, art and culture attached that this quaint village is popularly known for. Situated at 2130 metres in the scenic Kangra Valley in Himachal Pradesh, Pragpur continues to be an ornamental village with unchanged shops, old water tanks and mud-plastered walls. After check-in to the hotel, the day is free for leisure and independent activities.

Day 08 : Pray at the Dada Sibba Temple

Start your morning with breakfast at the hotel and gear up for a visit to the Dada Sibbi Temple. Dedicated to the Indian Lord and Goddess Radha Krishnan, the temple is also a rich treasure house of Kangra Paintings. While the afternoon can be used for independent activities, the evening will be spent in venturing out to the main village. Here you can explore the art and culture of Pragpur and learn more about its development to becoming a heritage village.

Day 09 : Shimla- The queen of hill stations

Leave for Shimla in the morning. Upon arrival, check in to the hotel and kick start your day with a walk down the mall road. Sitting at an altitude of 2159 metres, the city is filled with an amalgamation of age-old Indian and British architectures and culture that will leave you awestruck. The rest of the day is free for leisure.

Day 10 : Traverse through the Ridge and Glen

After breakfast, head to the Ridge, a scenic open space offering breathtaking mountain views. Visit Lakkar Bazaar known for its wooden crafts. Explore the Glen, a wooded ravine ideal for picnics. Return to Mall Road for a heritage walk featuring British architectural landmarks like Christ Church and the library. Discover the hill station's rich history and charm.

Day 11 : Next stop: Jaipur

After Checking out, you will be driven down to Chandigarh airport to connect your flight to Jaipur. Upon arrival at Jaipur airport, you will be greeted and further assisted to your hotel. On your way to your hotel, you will notice multiple pink terracotta buildings. It is because of these structures that this city is famously known as “The Pink City”. The city is famed for being the first planned city featuring multitudes of pink buildings. Post-check-in, you will have the entire night to rest and gear up for the next day.

Day 12 : From the City Palace to the Hawa Mahal

Post breakfast; begin your tour with a visit to the City Palace Museum. Explore the excellent collections of Rajasthani costumes, artefacts belonging to the ruling family, and armoury of the Mughals and Rajputs. The Hawa Mahal is a five storied palace with a pyramidal semblance with overhanging windows, domes and spires.  Additionally, you can visit the Amer Fort, also otherwise known as Amber Fort. To enjoy the excellence of its design and decoration, you will be driven up to the main gate by a jeep.

Day 13 : Jaipur beyond the Hawa Mahal

After a scrumptious breakfast, visit the Dera Amer, an ‘environment protection project’ turned sanctuary for wild and domestic animals. Escape the busy streets of Jaipur and enjoy a delicious lunch at this spot. Following that, walk around the modern Birla Temple and witness the carvings and paintings dedicated to Lord Vishnu and Goddess Lakshmi. Before dusk falls, visit the Jantar Mantar of Jaipur and learn about the nineteen architectural astronomical instruments from 1734 that were used to measure the positions of the sun, stars and planets.

Day 14 : Agra and its abandoned cities

Post Breakfast, Check-out & drive down to Agra. En-route visit Abhaneri Stepwells. Earlier known as “the city of brightness”, the city is now ruined but continues to be prominent for its ‘Baoris’ which were invented to harvest rainwater. Among these, Chand Boari is the most popular well in the region. The next on the itinerary is Fatehpur Sikri- a deserted city that was once considered India’s “Pompeii”. Although abandoned, the city has well-preserved buildings and many Red stone-stone palaces to explore.

Day 15 : Explore the Mughal heritage architectures

Agra Fort, Agra

Gear up for an early morning visit to the stupendous Taj Mahal. This UNESCO World heritage site was built by Mughal emperor Shah Jahan for his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal and is prominently considered as the pinnacle of Mughal art in India. Additionally, you can opt to visit the Agra Fort, another UNESCO heritage site that was built by successive rulers of the Mughal Dynasty between the 16th and 17h century. Post breakfast; check out and make a move towards Delhi. Upon arrival, check-in and enjoy an overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 16 : Explore prominent heritage monuments in Old Delhi

After breakfast, proceed towards the city tour to old Delhi. Upon arrival, drive past the Red Fort, which was built in the 17th century. India’s largest mosque, the Jama Masjid, is next on the itinerary.  Venture out for an adventurous afternoon on a rickshaw ride around the local market. Enjoy a drive through Lutyens Delhi with photo stops at India Gate and Rashtrapati Bhavan. You can also join the Salaam Baalak Trust City Walk, an initiative that encourages rescued street children to be tour guides in Delhi.

Day 17 : Time to bid farewell

Departure

After breakfast, check out from the hotel and head towards the international airport for boarding the flight for your onward journey.
