Detailed Itinerary
Day 1 : Arrival in Kochi
Our welcome ambassador will greet you at Kochi Airport and escort you to the hotel. Influenced till date by medieval Portuguese, Dutch, and British culture. Kochi is one of the ’50 Greatest Places to Visit in a Lifetime’ and it truly is a melting point of history and culture. Adorned by the captivating charm of the Arabian Sea, this city boasts of being one of the best-rated tourist destinations in Kerala that perfectly blends an old-world charm with the electrifying splendour of the modern-day world! Enjoy a sumptuous Malabar cuisine for welcome dinner at your hotel. This cuisine blends the flavours of Arab, Zamorin, Brahmin, and Chirakkal, offering it a unique flavour and aroma. Day 2 : Full day sightseeing Kochi
Your day will start with breakfast at your hotel. Then, leave for an orientation tour of the Kochi city where you will visit a Jewish Synagogue built in 1568, adorned by Chinese tiles and exquisite Belgian chandeliers. Then, visit the Dutch Palace in Mattancherry that was built by the Portuguese. Next, visit the Dutch Cemetery and then head to see Chinese Fishing Nets called Cheenavala. It is believed that traders from the court of the Chinese ruler Kublai Khan introduced these nets here. A whole stretch of the coast starting from the Fort Kochi to Vypeen are dotted with these nets. Stay overnight at the hotel.
Day 3 : Kochi to Kumarakom
After breakfast at your hotel, start to embark a houseboat. A huge and slow-moving boat used for leisure trips, houseboats are basically modified Kettuvallams of olden times. Relish traditional Kerala lunch in the houseboat. A Kettuvallam or ‘boat with knots’ used to carry up to 30 tons of grains like rice and spices from Kuttanad to the Kochi port. Enjoy the scenic views while sailing on the Kerala backwaters, which is made of lagoons and lakes parallel to the Arabian Sea coast or the Malabar Coast. Later disembark at the hotel jetty point in Kumarakom and check-in at the hotel. Kumarakom is an enchanting backwater destination and offers visitors many leisure options. View the picturesque landscapes and the verdant environs. Experience a boat ride, see the paddy fields, taste famous Toddy and local snacks of Kerala. The scenic Kerala backwaters comprise tranquil stretches of lakes, canals and lagoons located parallel to the coast of the Arabian Sea and they are a once in a lifetime experience.
Day 4 : Leisure day at Kumarakom
After your breakfast, enjoy the day at leisure. Relax with a rejuvenating massage or try Ayurveda therapies at your hotel on a direct payment basis. Ayurveda is the world's oldest holistic healing system, which was developed more than 3,000 years ago in India. Based on the age-old belief that the health and wellness of a person depend on the balance maintained between the mind, body, and spirit. The main objective of Ayurveda is to promote good health, and not just cure ailments. After that, enjoy an orange-hued sunset at the east shore of Vembanad Lake, which promises to be one of the most memorable treats for your eyes. Experience the sunset cruise on a houseboat, motorboat, speed boat or a Shikara. You can also opt for bird watching at Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary, set in the Kerala Backwaters, where you can see hundreds of migratory birds. Another optional activity is a visit to a Kavanatinkara Sustainable Village which is well acclaimed for its backwaters, sumptuous cuisines, and lush greenery. Stay overnight at the hotel.
Day 5 : Kumarakom to Mararikulam
Post breakfast, drive to a quaint fishing village called Mararikulam. An enchanting beach village where you will feel as if time has stood still, discover the miraculous beauty of nature in myriad forms. Be it the infinite sea or its never-ending waves, the gleaming golden sands or the picturesque settings, everything in Mararikulam invigorates the visitors’ souls! If you have time, pamper yourself with an Ayurveda therapy or an Ayurvedic Massage known as the ‘Abhyangam’ which is one of the important dinacharya (daily regimens) stated in the Ayurvedic classics for maintaining good health.
Day 6 : Full day sightseeing Mararikulam
After breakfast at your hotel, relax and rejuvenate at leisure. As an optional activity, you could visit a sea-side village set on 30 acres with coconut groves, beautiful lily ponds, loaded fruit trees, and a huge organic farm. The Marari Beach resort has an organic farm and garden spread over four acres where many vegetables and fruits are grown. Experience plucking the vegetables from the organic garden and stir up a dish using them with the help of the in-house chef. Stay overnight at your hotel.
Day 7 : Exploring the fish Landing Harbor
After breakfast, enjoy the day at leisure. You can take a tour of the famous Fish-Landing Harbour. Go for a stroll in the morning with our naturalist where you can see the fresh catch of fish being brought in from the sea. Experience how the middlemen bargain for their stock and get the pulse of this small fishing hamlet. Visit the Butterfly Garden to see hundreds of butterflies in myriad hues. Did you know that butterflies don’t fly at night? These delicate creatures just live for a month and can take generations to move from one field to the next. After your visit, relax overnight at your hotel.
Day 8 : End of the Itinerary
After breakfast check out from the hotel and drive towards Cochin international airport to connect flight for your onward journey. Cochin International Airport is an international airport that serves Kochi in Kerala, India. It is the first airport of its kind which is constructed under a public-private partnership model in India.
