Detailed Itinerary

Day 1 : Welcome to the City of Joy "Kolkata"

Howrah Railway Station

Upon arrival in Kolkata, our representative will welcome you and escort to your hotel. While the room keys and check-in formalities are completed you’ll be briefed about the tour program. Unwind in the Kolkata hotel. It is the same city where the Bengal Renaissance was born in the early 20th-century. It is the cultural capital of India as it’s a major centre for drama, art, film, theatre, literature, spirituality and music. Rest for the day. The 350-year-old city is located along the eastern bank of the Hooghly River. The city is the heart and soul of eastern India despite its crumbling colonial architecture, elegant gardens, countless temples and bustling bazaars. Enjoy your night stay at the hotel.

Day 2 : Kolkata Tour

Howrah Bridge, Kolkata

After breakfast at the hotel, enjoy a Walking tour to witness the early 19th and 20th-century colonial architecture. During the British rule, this was considered 'the second city of the Empire' because you’ll see Victorian-style buildings. Enjoy a half day city tour of Kolkata. On this day you get several options, firstly, a visit to Mother Theresa's House and her tomb, and then to Nirmal Hriday, where she lived with her sisters to serve the people who needed the most. Secondly, you have an option to visit the world-famous, Howrah Bridge or Rabindra Setu, built over the Hooghly river. The third longest bridge in the world is pretty busy throughout the day. Thirdly, the Victoria Memorial; a marble structure built commemorating Queen Victoria. If you are an avid foodie then there is the fourth option of getting to eat locally cooked Bengali food. Familiarize yourselves with the ingredients used in a Bengali cooking, and eventually get to taste some authentic Bengali food cooked by a homemaker or by the owners of the finest restaurants of the city. In the end, follow it up with delicious Bengali sweets. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 3 : Welcome to the Film City "Mumbai"

Welcome to Mumbai, home to India’s largest film industry, and a financial powerhouse. It is a place where fashion is a way of life and setting goals for others to follow. The city boasts of some grand colonial-era architecture on the planet, unique bazaars, hidden temples, and some of the best restaurants on the planet. Check in to the hotel and rest for the day. Or else you have the option of visiting Gateway of India, inaugurated in the early 20th century or zoom past Marine Drive to feel the sea breeze kiss your face. The last option is a visit to the magnificent Victoria Terminus Building, a UNESCO World Heritage built by architect F W Stevens took ten years for completion and today.  and a shining example of the Victorian Italianate Gothic Revival architecture. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 4 : Mumbai tour starts

Early in the morning, go on a walking tour ‘Mumbai by Dawn’ which will give you an idea of how people go about their businesses for the purpose of a better life. Also, you’ll come in touch with the original inhabitants of Mumbai, the Koli fisherfolk, and in turn, get to know about the auction of a unique fish named Bombay duck. As the day goes by, witness how food distribution takes place as several tonnes of food enter market places. Another highlight is the herb mandi, where vendors sell leafy vegetables atop a bridge. Get to know about the original inhabitants of Mumbai and also about a fish named Bombay Duck. You have the option of visiting Elephanta caves, whose walls adorn the brilliantly sculptured panels, nine in all, are set like tableaux. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 5 : Last Day in Mumbai

Chowpatty Beach, Mumbai

After breakfast, proceed to the Dabbawalla tour. Get to know about the daily life of a food delivery man or a Dabbawala, who ensures the home-cooked food reaches offices on time before lunch. The tour begins at Churchgate Railway Station. While you’ll travel in the first-class compartment from Churchgate Railway Station to Mahalaxmi Railway Station, as it is the point where the majority of Dabbawalas disembark and deliver their products to the many offices nearby. It is followed up by a visit to open-air laundry known as Dhobi Ghat, before moving to your hotel. Optional visit to Prince of Wales museum or currently known as Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vaastu Sangrahalaya, a fine example of Indo-Saracenic style of architecture. Or else, the option of a special Maharashtrian Thali dinner at a local restaurant awaits you. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 6 : Welcome to the Capital City of India

India Gate, New Delhi

On arrival at Delhi's IGI airport, our representative will escort you to the hotel. Later in the day drive towards India Gate. Here, pay your respects to the 80000 fallen Indian soldiers who sacrificed their lives in World War-1 during the British rule. Drive towards the Rashtrapati Bhawan, home to the President of India, which boasts of 340 rooms across 4 floors. Get to experience the majestic India Gate, also known as the Delhi Memorial or the All India War Memorial. The name of roughly 80,000 soldiers who died in WW-1 are etched on its walls.  The structure bears a striking resemblance to the Gateway of India, Mumbai. Witness the mega estate which houses India's President. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 7: Full day sightseeing of Delhi

Gurudwara Bangla Sahib, New Delhi

Take part in charitable activities endorsed by Salaam Baalak Trust, a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) which rescues street children and educates them for a better future. Work, for a day. You also have the option of visiting a holy place, Gurudwara Bangla Sahib,  and be astonished to know that nobody leaves on a hungry stomach, as the community kitchen dishes out 10,000 meals a day. Known for its double domes, decorative inlaid marble and vast garden with pools. he second option is a trip to Humayun’s tomb The mausoleum complex of Humayun, was the first garden-tomb to be built in India, taking seven years to complete. It is the 16th Century building set the stage for the style to be used in building Taj Mahal almost 100 years later. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 8 : Delhi Tour Ends

The last day in Delhi starts with an aim to tantalise that taste buds of yours as you wade through shops selling delicious delicacies in Old Delhi. Later on arrive at the massive Jama Masjid mosque, which is designed to fit 20,000 people, so that they can pray comfortably. But the highlight of this of the tour would be a rickshaw ride to Asia’s largest spice market. Optional visit to Akshardham temple, which consists of 234 ornately carved pillars, 9 ornate domes, 20 quadrangle shikars. It is considered to be one of the biggest religious places of worship to be ever constructed. Combining the contrasting architectural styles of Rajasthani, Orrisan, Gujarati, Mughal and Jain, this temple has been built using marble and the red-sandstone. Lastly, you can pay a visit to Qutub Minar, built by Qutub-ud-din Aibak in 1200 AD. Overnight stay at the hotel.
