Detailed Itinerary
Day 1 : Welcome to Kolkata
Welcome to the city of joy, Kolkata. It is the capital city of West Bengal, situated on the bank of Hooghly river. Check-in Novotel Kolkata Hotel and Residencies. Explore Kolkata, the heart and soul of east India. The city is full of historical buildings exhibiting colonial architecture, lush green gardens and religious places. Make a visit to Victoria Memorial which is a massive building from the early 20th century. It is constructed from white marble. Victoria Memorial is a very popular tourist destination in Kolkata. Day 2 : Kolkata to Guwahati
An early morning flight from Kolkata Airport will take you to the sprawling city of Guwahati, Assam. It is famed for its many religious places such as Kamakhya Hilltop Temple, Navagraha Temple and Umananda Temple. Each one of them has its beauty and significance. The Kamakhya Temple is dedicated to the Hindu gods like Lord Shiva and Lord Vishnu. Also, Navagraha Temple from the 18th century features places of worship for planetary gods. Then Umananda Temple is an interesting place of worship of Lord Shiva and sits on Peacock Island. Head to the Assam State Museum, situated at the heart of the city of Guwahati. Day 3 : Guwahati to Kaziranga National Park
Have a nice breakfast and drive to the Kaziranga National Park, situated in the Golaghat and Nagaon districts of Assam. In addition to being one of the largest national parks in India, it houses two-thirds of the world’s population of one-horned rhinoceroses. Therefore, it is also listed as the World Heritage Site. Kaziranga is densely packed with rich flora including the elephant grass, broadleaf forests and marshlands. Also, four major rivers make their ways through the national park. Day 4 : Kaziranga National Park
Take a jeep early in the morning with our representatives and head to the elephant riding spot. Hop aboard the back of the elephant and make way through the forest. You will be moving through the Kaziranga National Park by catching glimpses of wild animals from a close viewpoint. Also, you will get to explore the central and western zone of the national park. Observe the other wild animals closely while moving through the tall grasses. Come back to the resort for a delicious breakfast. Head out for the first jeep safari for wildlife viewing in the central zone of the national park. Come back for lunch and go for another jeep safari on the western side of the park. Lastly, return to the resort and have a peaceful overnight stay at the resort.
Day 5 : Kaziranga to Dibrugarh
Take an early morning drive to Dibrugarh while passing through beautiful landscapes. Dibrugarh is famously known as the Tea City of India. Also, it is rapidly emerging as the hub of North East India for communication and industrial development. Day 6: Reach Nagaland

Day 7 : Visit Shangnyu, Nagaland
An entire day is dedicated to an excursion in Shangnyu village where you can see the traditional life of Nagaland inspired by modern ways. Meet the people of the village and learn about their life. The village is ruled by the chief “Angh”. Also, visit the chief’s palace decorated with skulls on the front side and believed to have been carefully crafted by angels. Day 8 : Arrive at Mokokchung
Treat yourself with a nice breakfast and leave for the home of the Ao Naga tribe, Mokokchung. It has great importance from the economic, political and traditional view. As the name suggests, this entire place is inhabited by the Ao Naga tribe. Also, the village of Chuchuyimlang is the hub of festivals of Ao Nagas. Based upon the time of the year in which you arrive in Mokokchung, you can see the culture of the tribe. Check in to the hotel in Mokokchung. Day 9 : Explore the villages of Mokokchung
You will go for an excursion to the villages known for scenic beauty, Ungma and Longkhum. An old Naga says, “A single visit to Longkhum is not enough, for your soul stays behind the first time and you have to return to Longkham once again to get it back.” During the spring season, the villages are on the peak of their natural beauty with hillocks dotted with rhododendrons and fresh blossoms. Also, Longkhum is home to the ethnic variety of handicrafts and handlooms. Ungma has a great historic importance as it is believed that it was founded by the Ao Tribe when they retreated from their ancestral home at Chungliyimti. Day 10 : Reach Kohima
After breakfast, head for a full-day excursion to the nearby villages of Touphema and Khonoma. The excursion will begin at the Touphema village which is a conserved area ideal for trekking. In this village, a festival of purification locally known as Sekrenyi festival is celebrated at the end of February every year. It is believed that the holy and clean waters wash away the bad luck and diseases. Afterwards, drive to the Khonoma village will take you to the land of brave hearts. The very popular Khonoma Gate is the storyteller of British intervention into the great Naga hills.
Day 11 : Kohima attractions
After having breakfast at the hotel, get ready for a full day devoted to sightseeing in and around Kohima. Also, visit the nearby villages of Bara Basti and Kisema. Then head to the Second World War Memorial and pay your tributes to the soldiers who fought and died in the war. A very famed saying has been inscribed on the cemetery in Kohima. It says, “When you go home, tell them of us and say, for your tomorrow, We gave our today”. Unmatched courage was possessed by the freedom fighters who lost their lives saving the liberty and freedom of the upcoming generations. Furthermore, pay a visit to the State Museum at the Bayani Hill and explore the varied cultural aspects of Nagaland like lifestyle, artefacts, handicrafts and handlooms. Day 12 : Make a visit to the Cathedral Church Kohima
After breakfast at the hotel, you will make a visit to Kohima Cathedral Church and Nagaland State Museum. Kohima Cathedral Church is of great significance as it is the main church of the diocese of Nagaland. The church exhibits the unique architectural characters and elements of the authentic Naga houses. Also, it hosts one of the largest crucifixes in Asia. In addition, the cathedral is home to the tomb of the bishop who initially conceptualized the making of the cathedral. Then Nagaland State Museum manifests Naga history with the tribal pieces.
Day 13 : Departure
After breakfast, check out from the hotel and head towards the airport for boarding the flight for your onward journey.
